Development EnvironmentThe RFTP application was written in Java. All the classes were developed on a PC under Windows 95 and 98 operating systems. The Java Development Kit version 2.0 (JDK 2.0) was used to develop the core client and server classes that provide the file transfer functionality. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed using the Designer tool provided by Borland JBuilder Integrated Development Environment. JBuilder Designer, provides a graphical interface for visual component development. In JBuilder, JDK 2.0 and the Java Swing API was used to develop the application front end. During this phase of development, all client and server classes were imported into JBuilder. Then changes and upgrades to the software were made in JBuilder. |
